Eleven Strategic Book Publishing authors have won honors in the 2012 Readers Favorite Awards. Entries were up two-fold from last year, with contestants competing against submissions from major publishers, best-selling authors and celebrities.? The? winners are:
W.G. Griffiths and his Methuselah?s Pillar won the Gold Medal in the Fiction/Action category. Methuselah?s Pillar takes readers on an urgent race across time and faith, where myth and science wrestle for truth.
Howard Jordan, Jr. received a Gold Medal for his multi-award winning 101 Reasons to Leave New York for Non-Fiction/Humor. Jordan?s look at life in the Big Apple is as insightful as it is humorous and has launched a blog of the same name in The Huffington Post.
Dark Solus: An Assassin?s Tale, by David Andrew Crawford, received the Bronze Medal in Fiction/Fantasy while Amanda Grieme?s Dear Prudence won the Silver for Fiction/Intrigue.
Crawford?s book is the first in his Dark Saga series; this dark fantasy is set in a world ruled by magic, in a time before boundaries formed between the mystical kingdoms of Fa?rie and the mortal world of man. Grieme?s stirring Dear Prudence is the story of an escaped mental patient with a backpack full of unsent letters and a death wish who discovers something worth living for.
In the Children/Fable category, Sherrill S. Cannon?s Gimme-Jimmy took the Silver Medal with its delightful tale of a young boy who must learn the lesson of sharing. In the same category, Rita Kaye Vetsch?s The Many Colors of Friendship received Honorable Mention for its unique story of diversity and the power of friendship. This is a second nod for Vetsch?s book while Cannon?s earlier three books were each recognized last year. Leyla Atke?s Charm: An Amazing Story of a Little Black Cat was named a Finalist in Non-Fiction/Animals. Charm is the true story of the author?s remarkable experiences rescuing a black cat.
Opposites attract and sparks fly in the delightful romance The Sixties Girl, by Virginia Staat, which was awarded Honorable Mention in the Romance/Contemporary category.
The Illuminator ? Access to Universal Intelligence by Rajith Rajappan won the Honorable Mention award for Non-Fiction/Self-Help; its Universal Intelligence theory focuses on emotions, knowledge, and self-improvement goals to help you succeed in every aspect of your life.
Ann Morten?s The Cuckoo?s Egg was recognized for the second time; it was a Finalist in the Non-Fiction/Drama category. Based on true events, The Cuckoo?s Egg is the story of a gifted psychic and medium, and how her abilities came to light. Spiritual medium Raine was also a Finalist, with her book recognized for Non-Fiction/Autobiography. And Rainedrops Fall Down My Cheeks is the autobiography of Raine, who from the time she was a young child has shared a loving relationship with her guardian angel.
